Good karma pays off

We had an unfortunate thing occur Sunday. The situation had made us feel vulnerable, paranoid, and violated.

Sunday morning before church, Mom and Dad Hiatt left early to go to the Crematorium to do some work, and they noticed that the garage door was open. We have a defective garage door; you have to watch it close and wait a few minutes because it will reopen again. They didn’t think much of it.

Later that morning we all went to church and Dad Hiatt mentioned how the door was open earlier. That twisted some wheels in Shayne’s mind.
Needless to say we soon found out that Shayne’s and Dad’s golf bags with all their clubs, drivers, brand new golf shoes, balls, etc were all stolen. Golf is Shayne’s LIFE. We had just purchased his new set last year, so we are exceptionally upset.

It gets better.

Shayne called the police to call in the missing golf sets. As he was explaining what the bags looked like and what they consisted of, the cop realized that they sounded just like the two golf bags that were reported in previously that morning.
The next day Shayne went into the police station and it was theirs! Hooray!
Dad’s was fine, but Shayne had a lot missing from his.

On the way home, Shayne walked to the bridge where they were found and traced back to the house of the kid who stole them. Some of the broken parts were in his back yard! He called the Cop, and the Cop said that they have had a lot of problems with that teenage boy.

Shayne got the name and address to the lady who called in golf bags. We took her some cookies and a gift certificate to say thank you for what she had done. The lady said that the kid who did it is terrible! He and his gang vandalize the neighborhood, and have been for a long time. They have not busted him yet because if they don’t have concrete proof, the cops can’t do anything. The kids spray painted the nice ladies FENCE! She is constantly calling the cops on these kids.

She said that Sunday morning she and her friend were walking, and the kids were throwing Shayne’s golf balls and clubs at her FRIEND! So now we have an eye witness on these kids having our stolen property, and the guy can file assault.

Stay tuned……

Ohhhh kids like that need to rot in jail for a few, LONG years...whatever it takes to teach them a lesson!! It amazes me that people can be that way...not have any thought as to how it will affect people. I'm glad you found them but I'm sorry it happened in the first place. Stuff like this is so violating!
